RRB JE & Other Post Selection Process

Exam Sarathi is sharing the complete process for the recruitment of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent( DMS), Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant CMA vacancies of the Railway Recruitment Board( RRB).

Selection Process 

RRB JE 2019 Selection Process include of 4 Stages :

  • 1st Stage CBT ( Computer Based Test )
  • 2nd Stage CBT
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Test

First Stage CBT

The examination will be online. Questions will generally be in accordance with educational standards & technical qualifications.

Objective Multiple Choices will be in the question papers and questtion will include :

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • Mathematics
  • General Science

Second Stage CBT

The short listing of candidates for the second stage of the CBT examination is based on the normalized marks obtained in the first stage of the CBT examination.

The questions will be objective with multiple choices and will probably include questions relating to following subjects :

  • General Awareness
  • Basics of Computers and Applications
  • Physics and Chemistry
  • Technical Abilities
  • Basics of Environment and Pollution Control

NOTE : Based on the performance of candidates in the online exam. Applicants equal to the number of vacancies are called to verify documents.

Document Verification

During document verification, candidates must submit their original documents and certificate format as described below. Certificates will not be accepted in any other format.

  • Certificate of registration / high school exam or equivalent certificate as proof of birth date
  •  Higher Secondary / 10 + 2 / Inter /PUC
  • Certificate of Diploma / Engineering / Science with Semester Wise Mark Sheets
  • SC / ST Certificate
  • NCL Certificate of OBC
  • Declaration on non-cream layer by OBC candidates
  • Certificate of Income for the waiver of exam fees for EBC
  • Minority Community Declaration on Non – judicial Stamp

Medical Test

Candidates recommended for appointment must pass the required medical fitness test(s) carried out by the Railway Administration. They ensure that the candidates are medically capable of performing the duties and the Visual Acuity Standard.

A 3 Medical Standard :

Aspirants should be physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards-Distance Vision: Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (lens power not exceeding 2D). Near Vision: Sn: 0.6,0.6 with or without glasses. Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Mesopic Vision Must pass test.

B 1 Medical Standard :

Candidates should be physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards- Distance Vision: 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses( power of lenses not exceeding 4D). Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or working closely. Color Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision and Mesopic Vision must be tested.

B 2 Medical Standard :

Physically fit.Visual Standard Distance Vision : 6/9, 6/12 with or without glasses (lens power not exceeding 4D).Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or working closely and Binocular Vision test must be passed.

C 1 Medical Standard :

In all respect candidates should be fit. Visual standard distance vision: distance vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses. Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 for reading or closing work with or without glasses.

Q3. What is the upper age limit for the post of JE in RRB ?

A. 33 years For General category

Q4. I completed my diploma in mechanical engineering. can i apply for Jr Engg. post ?

A. Yes( Diploma in any discipline)
